Kindergarten Training Session
May 04, 2011 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This one hour session will provide training for Kindergarten teachers in delivering a River based water unit as part of Save The River’s In The Schools Program. The training session is free of cost, and the first five participants to sign up will receive a complete materials kit to implement the unit. All participants will also be entered in a drawing to receive a water table for their classroom. The training will be led by Kindergarten teacher, and Save The River volunteer, Heather White. Heather says she loves teaching science, and is always looking for ways to “squeeze it in”. Her water unit is user friendly, while covering many kindergarten teaching points. She will explain and model easy ways to do many of the lessons during Center Time.  The unit is literature based and moves across the curriculum, covering water concepts such as: Where do we find water? How does water flow? Sink-float, water’s surface, and the vocabulary of native species. Please join us for this fun, engaging curriculum training session. To register: Call Save The River, 315-686-2010 or email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Download a one pager invitation here.
